When an Air Transport has been deemed necessary:
When called upon, Land-Air has access to highly skilled, experienced and aero-medically trained teams that include ICU-CCU Certified Registered Fight Nurses, Advanced Life Support Critical Care Flight Paramedics, Flight Respiratory Therapists, ICU Neonatal and Pediatric Flight Nurses, and Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Flight Physicians and Specialists.
Land-Air is able to provide complete bedside-to-bedside service and is available 24/7 to assist in cost-effective travel.
The specific cost of a transport is based primarily upon the medical condition of the patient. This assessment will determine the mode of transport (type of aircraft or level of ground transportation), medical supplies and size and type of team needed, the length of the trip, and the urgency of travel.
Medical Escort via Amtrak: A Patient is accompanied by a trained escort (nurse or paramedic) in a sleeper car of an Amtrak train. Any/all patient care is rendered by the escort.
When a medical transport is not practical or deemed necessary for air transport, Long Distance Ground Transportation is especially appropriate when relocating patients across state lines, to a patient's home, or from one facility to another. Land-Air has contracts to routinely provide long distance medical transports for various State and Federal authorities on an ongoing basis.
